Off-Field Injury Strikes Mickey Vernon
Monday, March 25th, 1940: Doctors tending the injured Bees first baseman Mickey Vernon diagnosed him with an oblique strain and said he will be out of the lineup for up to 1-2 weeks. Vernon was injured while skipping stones at a lake yesterday.
